Vehicle Recovery & Management System

1. Purpose of the System

This system establishes the operational framework used by Connecting Cities Rentals for vehicle monitoring, owner protection, driver compliance, lawful vehicle recovery, tracking coordination, inspection management, and breach escalation procedures.

2. Owner Recovery Mandate

The Vehicle Owner hereby authorizes Connecting Cities Rentals to:

  • Coordinate lawful vehicle recovery procedures
  • Communicate with drivers/renters
  • Coordinate with tracker companies
  • Arrange inspections and vehicle verification
  • Issue breach notices
  • Coordinate towing and storage
  • Escalate matters legally where necessary
  • Communicate with SAPS and legal representatives

3. Driver / Renter Obligations

  • Maintain communication with Connecting Cities Rentals
  • Submit required check-ins and updates
  • Maintain tracker integrity
  • Make agreed rental payments
  • Return the vehicle upon lawful demand
  • Report accidents or damages immediately

4. Breach Events

A driver/renter may be regarded as being in breach where:

  • Payments are not made
  • The driver disappears or refuses communication
  • The vehicle is unlawfully withheld
  • Tracking systems are interfered with
  • False information is provided
  • Unauthorized vehicle usage occurs

5. Lawful Recovery Procedures

Connecting Cities Rentals may coordinate lawful recovery procedures including:

  • Vehicle tracing and monitoring
  • Tracker coordination
  • Inspection coordination
  • Recovery representative deployment
  • Legal escalation
  • SAPS reporting where necessary

6. POPIA Compliance

All information, tracking records, identity documents, inspection records, and operational information shall be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
